Whilst this app is not universal it can of course run on an iPad although with 2x magnification. In fact it can be of most use to iPad’s and iPod Touches with lesser cameras as this app will more than double the resolution. It will increase the iPad and iPad Mini’s 5 megapixel camera from 5mpx to 11.2!
In terms of features the app is really a one trick pony and doesn’t offer the camera features we have come to expect from more professional camera apps like the ability to lock focus and exposure, but this app isn’t designed to be a camera replacement app for one simple reason: it needs to be held steady (a tripod is ideal) and it relies on you not having much motion in your scene. If you can achieve these two things you will get stunning results — if not, then you will get interesting results, but not that usable.
Under the right conditions this app delivers really sharp images and doesn’t sacrifice any colour information either. You will see a slight increase in image size from 2mb to about 3.5mb which isn’t a big deal. You will have to remember to delete your image queues in the app as it will save the 6 images there (not your camera roll) and these will start to eat up your iPhone/iPad’s space.
